TAMU-CC University Center Acoustic Paneling
As an intern at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, I designed acoustic wall panels for the University Center, replacing outdated panels that featured dated images, fonts, and design elements. The university requested a design that would remain timeless, versatile, and easily replaceable in the future.
The project involved multiple design iterations over several months. I collaborated closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, the Director of the University Center Student Life unit, contractors, and an architect to finalize accurate measurements. Working within a set budget, I created detailed order sheets listing panel measurements and costs, allowing for easy reordering if needed.
The final panels, installed about a year after the project began, refreshed the visual identity of the space while improving acoustics. Designed for a round, open-concept building, they help reduce sound travel throughout the University Center, creating a more comfortable and inviting environment for students, faculty, and visitors.
